Ranch Experiences--Join Us!
An Overview of HLCC Products
Harding Land & Cattle Company is always looking for ways to offer more products and services
to its customers. With HLCC being such a well diversified operation, there are many ways to become involved in HLCC. The
composite breed of cattle raised on the ranch, known as the RanchStar, offers cattlemen the chance to acquire quality breeding stock
from HLCC and therefore improve their herd performance. But HLCC does not offer just breeding stock. With over 85 square
miles of timbered hills and breaks at the ranch and miles of Yellowstone River frontage at the farm and feedlot, the possibility of
utilyzing HLCC as a means of recreation and adventure also exists. Please explore the following links in order to find what
our operation has to offer! Please bear with us, as the sales & offerings page is still under construction.
For almost two decades, HLCC has built its composite breed, known as the RanchStar, into a more than competitive force in the cattle
industry. This unique breed was developed at Fort Keough in the 1970s in an effort to create a perfect match between breed and
environment. To explore the different ways that a RanchStar can work for you, please view what HLCC has to offer in terms of
bulls and heifers.
HLCC is exploring the possibility of selling beef direct to customers who are interested. The ranch is raising all natural
beef calves that have not had any growth hormones or been treated with any antibiotics. In today's age, when it is more important
to know where your food is coming from, you can count on HLCC to provide you with quality beef that is safe and very tasty--all coming
from the eastern Montana range!
HLCC's ranch consists of nearly 85 sections bording the Powder River east of Miles City, MT. There is a never-ending
schedule of work at the ranch, from branding and moving pairs out in the early summer to fixing fence, and gathering and weaning in
the fall. HLCC would also like to hear if there would be any interest in joining us for a great western adventure of helping
us on the ranch.
The ranch east of Miles City contains some of the best hunting eastern Montana has to offer. This is prime mule deer country,
but the ranch also has antelope, turkey, pheasant, and grouse. If you are interested in some of the hunting packages
HLCC is considering offering, please explore this link. This link also contains a great gallery of photos showing
some of the game that has been taken from within the ranch boundaries.
HLCC opens much of its ranch each year to
all hunters through its involvement with the Block Management program, which is administered by the BLM.
